There are two ways to order from other platforms than Taobao.
Find the item you want on and copy the link of that item.
Go to Basetao, log in and then paste your link in the "link bar" on the top right of your screen. Once pasted, press "Search".
A pop-up will appear and say the link bar doesn't work, but don't be scared! Click on OK and you will be taken to the "Self-Help order" page.
In this page, you will need to fill in some information about the order you want to place. See this image to see what it looks like when filled out:
1- Copy the item URL into the URL field.
2- Copy the item name into the Item Name field. You can just copy the entire item name from the item
3- Fill in the seller name. There is a character limit on this field, so if you get an error, shorten the name.
4- Fill out the price in Yuan. This is excluding shipping costs. If you are ordering via a Yupoo seller who has prices listed in US Dollars, convert them to Yuan when placing the order. If you do not know the price of the item, you can put it at 1, then, add a note to the order asking the agent to check the price with the seller.
5- Fill out the shipping costs to the warehouse. If you are ordering from Yupoo, usually the shipping costs are 10 Yuan. In case the shipping costs are different from what you entered, Basetao will inform you and change them.
6- Fill in the size you want (if applicable).
7- Fill in the color/model you want (if applicable).
8- Select the quantity you want to order.
Check if everything is correct, and then click on click on the big "Add to cart" button. A pop-up will appear, asking you if you want to continue shopping (stay on this order page), or if you want to go to your shopping cart. Select your preference. For this tutorial, we will go to the shopping cart.
Your shopping cart will look similar to this:
All the items will be grouped by seller, sorted from newest to oldest addition to the cart. Select the product(s) you want to purchase and scroll to the bottom of the page. Click the "Check out" button to proceed with your purchase.
You will be taken to a page where you will have an overview of your to-be-placed order:
There is an option to ask your agent to remove packaging. So when you are ordering shoes (for example) and you don't want to keep the box, check this box.
Make sure the order is correct, and click on the orange "Pay" button.
Congratulations! You have just made your first self-help order with Basetao!
